Pine Tar is a pretty popular soap & has been asked for in my shop for some time now. It is not an easy bar to make & batches can be temperamental, but I think I have it down! It has a distinct smell and color & lathers to your heart's content!
It is said to have antibacterial and anti-fungal qualities and is useful to soothe and treat symptoms of poison ivy, oak, and sumac. Pine soap, is also used to treat skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis; it relieves the itching caused by bug bites.
Ingredients: Organic Saponified Oils (Extra Virgin Olive, Unrefined Babassau, Castor, and Cocoa Butter), Pine Tar, Essential Oils of Spearmint, Pine, and Lemongrass.
How to care for cold process soap:
-Allow the soap to dry out completely in between uses.
-Allow the soap to be stored in open air, out of the water flow. A slotted soap dish is great.
