Eczema, Listening to the Body, and What the Skin Tries to Tell Us
Eczema is something I didn’t just learn about through books or research — I learned about it through motherhood, my own body, and a lot of listening.

When my second son was about six months old, I noticed patches developing on his ankles. At the time, I was already making and using what I believed to be very skin-friendly products — simple, nourishing, handmade items that I trusted enough to use on my own family. And yet, there it was. His skin was telling me something.
That was my first real lesson in understanding that even when you’re doing everything “right,” the body may still ask for something different.
Formulating With Intention, Not Panic
Instead of reacting out of fear, I slowed down and paid attention. His eczema needed something thicker. Something more protective. Something that could be applied daily and actually stay on the skin long enough to support healing.
That’s when I formulated our Eczema Specific Cream — a richer, more substantial cream designed to be used consistently, especially on delicate areas. We applied it daily, gently, without forcing the process.
Within about two weeks, his skin cleared.
That experience shaped how I approach skincare to this day: not as a one-size-fits-all solution, but as a conversation between the skin and the body.
When It Became Personal — Again
Years later, I found myself dealing with eczema personally. Mine often appears during autonomic flares related to chronic health issues, and at times it can resemble ringworm — red, irritated, and persistent.
What surprised me most was this:
what worked beautifully for so many others didn’t work best for me.
While our tallow balm has been life-changing for many people with eczema, it wasn’t the hero for my own skin. Instead, I found the most relief by keeping things very gentle and consistent — using the Honey & Oat Bar to cleanse and following up with a Whipped Tallow to nourish and protect.
That was another reminder that skincare is deeply personal. What heals one person’s skin may not be the answer for someone else — and that’s okay.
The Skin Is a Messenger
I’ve said this often, and I believe it deeply:
“When you listen to the whispers of your body, you most likely will never have to feel your body scream.”
The skin is often the first place those whispers show up.
Eczema can be influenced by so many things — stress, immune response, gut health, nervous system regulation, environmental triggers, and more. I will never pretend to know all the answers, and I don’t believe any single product can “fix” what’s happening internally.
What I do believe is that caring for your skin gently, intentionally, and consistently can support the body while you figure out what it’s asking for.

Gentle Care, Not Promises
I don’t believe in miracle claims. I believe in listening, adjusting, and honoring what your body is telling you. Eczema is rarely just about the skin — but the skin can be a powerful place to start paying attention.
If you’re navigating eczema for yourself or your child, know this: you’re not doing anything wrong. Sometimes the body just needs support, patience, and care while it finds its balance again.
That’s how these products were created — not from a place of perfection, but from real life, real skin, and real learning.
