WIC (Women, Infant, and Children) is a nutrition program that helps pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and children (to the age of 5) supplement nutrition.
This is a simple recipe & many kiddos like it. There is an option to add a little sugar or maple syrup to this recipe but it is not necessary. The peanut butter that WIC allows typically has a decent amount of sugar already in it.
What you need:
- 1 Cup Peanut Butter
- 1 Packet of Instant Oats
- 1 Egg
- optional* 1/4 Cup of sugar, brown sugar, or 2 Tbsp of Maple Syrup.
What to do:
- Preheat the oven to 350
- Mix together your ingredients well.
- You can either 'drop' the dough onto a prepared baking sheet or your can drop them on and flatten them out a little bit.
- Bake them for about 10 minutes
- They do crumble easily, but are flavorful. You can add in chocolate chips, flavored oatmeal (I'm sure brown sugar + maple would taste great) but it isn't necessary. This helps you work with what you have to make a yummy treat for the kids or yourself!
